ITs ON @ Skye Music Festival 2007

After months of planning ITs ON had its official launch gig with its own stage at the Skye Music Festival, and it was mental!

Even though the ITs ON stage was the smallest stage at the skye fest with a capacity of around 500, we were certainly not lacking in energy the stage was buzzing from the first bands going on till the end each day.

The idea was to create a platform for bands in which ITs ON had worked with before to give them both experience and exposure, but also to engage with more acts from all over Highland and to have a smattering of acts that were well on the way to becoming huge, and by god it worked!

In order to keep the buzz flowing at the stage "Being next to the main stage we had too" from one act to another we worked with a total of 23 Bands/Acts over the two days and 7 Djs.

Friday

Friday started off with Electric Soup from lochalsh who opening the stage with a bang, followed by the ever popular Skye based young alternative rock band The Odd Sox who, with a mighty following from all the supporters wearing "The odd sox " t-shirts rocked the stage with their own material.

The Daisy Chains with the ever loveable Panda, Ruaridh and a Simon filled the ITs ON stage with their upbeat music.

The amazing Uncle Rocket have such a wide and experienced line up it's truly amazing and as you can imagine the stage is still bouncing!

Lynne Carson followed with her stunning vocals drawing many to the tent even with Echo and the bunnymen creating havoc next door; the highlands own Shutter followed - lovely guys and kept the tent rocking with there stunning tunes!

A band that both ITSOM & ITs ON have worked closely with over the past year are Caustic from Kishorn – with their superb punk inspired rock the guys played a blistering set. The Needles with a truly amazing energy in there performance followed - a pleasure to listen to and watch.

Following The Nut Bros were The Fortunate Sons - charismatic, with exceptionally lively tunes. If you ever get the chance to see these guys you are guaranteed to have fun!

And just to keep the genres changing Our Looner Activities topped the bill, keeping the stage rocking before the dj sets, we feel privileged to have played host to OLA and all the artists that were on the ITs ON stage, they all were wonderful!

Saturday

Even though most of the festival relievers were still sound asleep in their tents it never stopped us from rocking from 12pm with Red Handed!

Species 8472 graced the stage with a mix of beautifully inspired gothic sounds mixed with an powerful rendition of Scarburst.

Skye band The Grapes jumped on the stage and rocked hard playing original material with a cover song or two thrown in for good measure.

One Perfect Lie and a dear friend of ITs ON the renowned traditional singer song writer Andy Mitchell starting off with his own songs followed by One Perfect Lie rocking the tent so much so that you could not here We are the Physics on the main stage!

2006 Battle of the Bands winners Exit with their mix of traditional rock fusion kept the tent buzzing and full, followed by a band that ITs ON had heard a bit about from Inverness a scremo/power punk outfit called Convo as featured in the Sun newspaper.

Racheal Cormack hit the stage afterwards and even though her start time clashed with Envy Corps on the main stage, her fantastic voice and amazing song writing talents drew many people to the tent.

South Skye/Lochalsh based The Hookares who have to be the west coasts hardest working bands, this band will just grow and grow a definite one to watch.

Inverness based rockers Stolen Order took to the stage keeping the tent bouncing with their hardcore rock 'n roll that would make GNR or perhaps Motley Crue happy!

Dundee's own The Law took to the stage when the front man was found and kept the place buzzing.

Glasgow based Darkwater produced an astonishing performance and amazing set, the crowd and crew loved them.

The Mitsubishis are so talented, the frontman Matt is just astonishing to watch – the crowd were hooked the minute this lot started and captivated to the end. I fantastic end to a truly successful weekend. "
